For Participants
Who can participate?
You need to be 16 years of age or older in order to participate. This study is open to a general population, so you can invite your partners, friends, family and colleagues.
When can I participate?
The study is open in March, June, September or December, of 2009, 2010, 2011, and on March 2012. During other times when the study is closed, you can sign up for the next intake via the link on this websites homepage. You will then get an e-mail at the beginning of the open month.
What is involved?
You answer 208 questions each time. These questions are about things such as your strengths, hopes, happiness, perseverance, and purpose in life. You answer the same 208 questions every third month for a year; five times in total. Once you have completed the study for the first time, and entered your e-mail address, you are reminded by e-mail again when it is time to answer the study questions again. If you fail to answer the questions in a subsequent intake month, you drop out of the study.
What do I get for participating?
After you have completed the five assessments, you will receive an e-mail summary report of your scores. This report will explain the study in more detail, and also show you how your answers compare to those of others who answered the survey. After you have completed the five assessments, you will go into the draw to win one of ten $100 amazon.com vouchers! At each assessment point there will also be a draw for one $100 amazon.com voucher. The draws will be made by a constable from Wellington central police station, New Zealand, and posted on this website (under the Findings tab at the top). All survey respondents will be offered an option to opt-in to a free wellbeing orientated course after they have completed the first three assessments.
